The Vintage 30 is forward, narrow, and bright above the presence peak; the C12N is honky in the upper mids and rolled-off above. Cross them into the wrong amp and one of two failure modes appears: a V30 in an open-back Fender combo lands as ice pick; a C12N in a closed-back Marshall lands as lifeless.
